Haven’t had a lot of time recently, but here are a few things I have learned in the past few months.

1. When you think things can’t get any worse, they will.

2. Not being able to function because every time you even think of being happy, the weight of stress will bring you down in an instant.

3. Never doubt the power of self-doubt, it has the same destruction as a gun.

4. The best way to quickly cover up the fact that you were crying is to splash your face with cold water and stick it out a window or somewhere with really cold air.

5. Frustration isn’t like in the movies. It doesn’t just magically disappear if you close your eyes, take a deep breath, and get a really determined look on your face. No, you won’t throw the winning pitch, you won’t give the speech of a lifetime, you won’t gain the courage of a lion, and you won’t get the notes right. They will hit a homerun, you’ll freeze and run off the stage, you won’t make it to emerald city, and the song you just tried to play will STILL sound like shit.

6. People will let you down, no matter what.

7. All the distractions in the world won’t help you when realize that your life is meaningless. Save your money.

8. Procrastination makes things worse. You’ll always feel that pressure in the bottom of your stomach. You’ll always be thinking about it. And when it comes down the night before, you’ll spend more time having a panic attack about what to do than you will actually getting whatever it is done.

9. The prettiest shoes will hurt the most. That doesn’t just go for shoes.

10. When you think you’ve hit rock bottom, ignore it. You’ll still have a few billion stories left to fall down and it’s better to remember that than to fool yourself into thinking things will get better.

11. I am way too cynical, bitter, and pessimistic for only 16. I can’t even imagine how I’ll be at 30, if I make it there.

Yeah. Not in such a good mood right now. Enjoy the list. One of my favorite TV characters once said, “Life’s a bitch. Then you die.”
